Mayor Walsh's 2nd Annual Fair Housing Art Contest

The Boston Fair Housing Art Contest is an annual competition which celebrates the signing of the Fair Housing Act. The purpose of this contest is to foster better sense of understanding, acceptance and appreciation for the diversity in our neighborhoods, and throughout our communities. This contest is also great way to teach children about the importance of civil rights. The contest is a natural tie-in with lessons on Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and Black History Month; Congress actually passed the Fair Housing Act as a direct response to the assassination of Dr. King.

The voting period is now open and will end on April 1st, 2015.
